Hi, y'all. I'm Cherry Poppings - advice columnist, entertainer and brownie-maker extraordinaire!
My editor convinced me I should create a LiveJournal account to post some of my humorous writing. I used to work very closely with my big sister (Raymond Alexander - love ya, hon) on an advice column in QVegas magazine, but she's decided to focus more on her performing career and left me high and dry. Now I write a variety of advice pieces whenever the need arises for both QVegas and Out Las Vegas magaines.
My career began in April of 2003. A dear friend of mine convinced me that I'd be perfect for this little contest the Nevada Gay Rodeo Association does called the Closet Ball pageant. Wouldn't you know it, I won! So I reigned as Miss Closet Ball 2003 in the city of Las Vegas. I don't perform often these days, but will occasionally lend a bit of class to a decent fundraiser of high profile event. Last May, I rode on the QVegas float in the Las Vegas Pride Parade and had a great time. Since then, I've been more or less hiding out.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this little spot on the internet. Thanks for reading, sweethearts.
